Berkh Uul is a Joint Stock Company listed on the Mongolian Stock Exchange and part of the MSE Top 20 Index. The company trades under the stock ticker BEU.
Berkh Uul was established in 1954. The company was the largest producer of fluorspar from the 1950s to the 1990s. Peak production was reached in the early 80’s when the Delgerkhan mine was brought online to replace dwindling production from the original Berkh mine. At peak production, Delgerkhan was producing more than 170,000 tons per annum. In 1998, underground operations were shut down at Delgerkhan.
Berkh Uul is working towards restarting the Delgerkhan mine. In preparation, to restart the mine, the company carried out a successful diamond drilling program at the end of 2011. A 43-101 complaint resource report was completed in 2012 (the report is available under the media tab). The company is currently working on a prefeasibility study with initial production expected in later part of 2014.
